For my final portfolio, I am including my fourth paper, a major rewrite of my second paper and my annotated bibliography. I chose my second paper as my major rewrite because it was one that I really enjoyed and even though the beginning did not have much to change, I veered off at my ending as I seem to do a lot in my writing and with this one I wanted to perfect it and know that it would turn out really well. I felt skeptical if I would have rewritten my first paper because it did need a lot of work and after trying to do it, I had no idea if I was really headed in the right direction or not. I felt the most confidence in my second paper and wanted to show you the improvement. I liked being able to show how I write and felt the most comfortable with this piece because after discussing my first paper with you and how I went into my second paper I felt the most confident. The annotated bibliography was something I felt really did take a lot of time because we had to know what sources we were going to be using and what we wanted to do with them. My fourth paper, I struggle a bit more on this because in the past when I have written a research paper it has been about a topic we choose and interests us. I felt with this it was a lot harder for me to find something that would work to be able to be submitted later on. I felt a lot more pressure added with this and it really made me struggle and feel weaker about my performance. I did go back and make some changes, and am hoping I produced a better paper!
I feel I deserve to have my grade boosted to an A because even though I did not always have something to say during discussion, I always did the readings, questions, and peer responses. I loved being able to go into class and hear what others had to say because it really helped me understand the articles even more. This class was unlike any other English class I have ever been in and it honestly has been the one that has helped me the most. I liked how we went about the papers and I know that I never had the so called ‘perfect’ paper, but I felt each time their was something that I improved on and I felt I always took the constructive criticism and was able to move on from that.
I enjoyed this course a lot because I think it was the most beneficial and it really helped me understand writing in a much deeper meaning. I think that when we did the group work and then discussed was the most beneficial because it got more of us talking, but I did think every class you did a great job with enabling us to dig deeper and really helped us with the more complicated articles. I greatly enjoyed having you as a teacher and I thank you for everything you did throughout the quarter!
Paper 4 cover letter
In my paper "Online Instruction VS. Discourse Community," I discuss what a discourse community is and how being taught online is still considered to be one. I talk about the various issues that come along with the advancement of technology and what teachers need to do to make online instruction taught in the way that is as beneficial as a classroom. With talking and comparing online instruction to a discourse community I come to the conclusion that it fits the criteria and is considered one. When looking back at your comments and changes I went through and changed those, but other than that I didn’t change my paper much because I felt that I did compare and I wasn’t sure if you meant for me to completely change my topic and start over. I was out of town when I got my comments back and did not think I would have had time to produce another piece of work that would have been of greater quality.

Paper 2 cover letter
With this paper I was giving the audience an idea of what it takes for me to write a paper and my main point I wanted to get across was procrastination. Throughout the paper I gave a description of what it took and how procrastination came into the way I write a paper. I incorporated some of the articles to explain how as a writer I am beginning to look at writing in a different way in the hopes it will help. I think the part in the paper where I give the story of how I write was a part that I really liked. I want the readers to let me know if they think it flows right and what I should do better or what I need to work on. What I did to rewrite this was took out some things I felt were unnecessary and added in some things I felt necessary to help complete my paper and to help perfect it.

Annotated bibliography cover letter
With this annotated bibliography I showed what sources I was going to be using and where I would be using them in my paper. With this it helped me start my research and it took a lot of time to figure out what I wanted to use to support my topic.
